Labor Day weekend falls on September 5 to 7 in 2026, giving visitors three days to enjoy New York before summer draws to a close. Major sporting events, outdoor spaces, cultural celebrations and late-night dining make it a lively time to stay in the city.
The New Yorker Hotel places you in the center of Midtown, opposite Penn Station and close to Hudson Yards, Broadway, Times Square and the Empire State Building. It is a convenient starting point for both Manhattan attractions and events in the outer boroughs.
The 2026 US Open will be in full swing throughout Labor Day weekend. Matches take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, with third-round and fourth-round singles action scheduled across the weekend.
Direct Long Island Rail Road event service operates between Penn Station and Mets-Willets Point, making The New Yorker an especially convenient hotel for tennis fans.
